We are launching LAS with our inaugural exhibition LAS Begins – a jam-packed group show featuring 47 artists who have been involved in past projects realised by members of the LAS team. The exhibition marks the beginning of a space committed to artistic agency, transparency, and alternative structures for creative production.

LAS Gallery strives to do things differently within London’s art scene while simultaneously cultivating an international reach through gallery exchanges and collaborative projects. Based in Deptford, we have transformed a huge, two-storey space into a set of artist studios and state-of-the-art gallery, giving the project one of the largest gallery spaces in South London.

Entirely self-funded, we run as a not-for-profit to facilitate opportunities for artists – particularly those who identify as emerging, mid-career and/or working class – to exhibit and realise ambitious work. The endeavour has been conceived and will be led by the expertise of the team behind London Art Services who bring a track record of working with leading institutions, galleries and artists internationally.

With this first exhibition, LAS Gallery seeks to celebrate and champion – now and into the future – those who have supported our endeavours thus far as we embark on this new ambitious project. It marks the beginning of a space dedicated to bringing together artists, thinkers and makers to carve out new ways of working and to reclaim space on their own terms.
