FLORENCE SWEENEY

About

London-based multidisciplinary artist Florence Sweeney’s practice spans sculptural paintings, latex installations, and textiles. Sweeney’s work interrogates the intersection of personal history with broader social issues, delving into themes of memory, loss, and familial trauma while searching for meaning within the complexities of contemporary life.

Currently pursuing an MFA in Fine Art part-time at Goldsmiths, University of London, Sweeney previously earned her BA (Hons) in Fine Art from The Arts University Bournemouth in 2014. Sweeney’s work has been exhibited and collected internationally, with notable presentations at Modern Forms, UK, Espositivo Galería, Madrid, MINT Gallery, Munich, SWAB Art Fair, Barcelona, The Houses of St Barnabas, London, GUTS Gallery, London, and The Dot Project, London.

Sweeney has participated in residencies such as PLOP Residency, London, and PADA Residency, Lisbon. Alongside her practice, she has extensive experience working in artist studios, fabrication, and film and television art departments.
